A letter from the owner

Hello everyone,
I am writing this on behalf of a family that we know.  Ester and Rob Reed.  Rob is my niece McKenzie's baseball coach and his son Conner, who plays on the same team was diagnosed with a very serious form of Brain Cancer a couple weeks back.  He is 7 years old and is one of the sweetest boys you could cross paths with.  His mom Ester is someone who is always giving to others, whether it is for the youth group at their church or the PTO at our kids school.  Her husband Rob is a Border Patrol agent and has the same heart of service.  Conner had been sick for a while and they kept taking him to his Doctor.  Each time they could not find anything wrong.  A couple of weeks ago, he had a hard time holding up his head and they headed back to the Doctors.  They decided to do a scan and found the large malignant tumor.  They immediately did a surgery and now he is going to go through 18 months (daily) of Chemo and Radiation.   Some of you may have seen the story on Channel 7/39.  Campo Elementary had Conner Reid day.  They had a big barbecue and saved a lot of heads.  The children who went forward to have their heads shaved were amazing.  Even more, there were some little girls who did it too.  They wanted Conner to not feel so alienated and they wanted to show that were supporting him. I have spoken with Esther and learned that they are responsible for 20% of the medical bills as they have a PPO.  I could not imagine what 20% of Brain surgery and 18 months of treatment costs would add up to.  Our community has embraced them and helped financially and I am writing everyone to see if any of you can help.  All of us know how outrageous gas prices are, she has to make the trip from Campo to Children's every day.  I have attached a link for our Elementary School.  Right in the middle on the front page there is a link that you can click on to donate.  It is set up through pay pal.  Thank you in advance for your help for the Reid's.  Please remember to keep them in your prayers for Conner's healing, strength for the family, and financial provisions to get through this difficult time.  You cannot even begin to know how much your prayers and donations mean to them.  Click here to go to Campo Elementary website to donate!  Thank you again.

Sincerely,
Rebecca Ethington
